Chris “Shadow” Lee went to the High School of Art & Design in Manhattan. From the first family of Black independent film with jazz music on top, Shadow first started writing graffiti in the 1970s, creating the name “Shadow” as an iconic attention grabber for the world to admire. Inspired by artists like Stay High, Super Strut, Shark 77, Shadow reached All-City status, bombing the BMT, IND, and IRT subway lines with crews that included The Rebels, Soul Stoned Bros, and Magic Inc. of Brooklyn.
